(Chandni Chowk and Zaikaa are arguably better if you like “proper” food, but Chandni Chowk doesn’t do my fave dishes and the restaurant tries too hard to be trendy; Zaikaa’s food and service are excellent, but they don’t deliver).

www.thankgoditstakeaway.co.uk is not 100% up to date (they have details for at least one place in our area that’s been closed for years) but if you’re struggling to find a phone number, opening times, menus and so on for a quick, lazy slap-up tea… it’s pretty much ideal.

We’re just ordering Chinese food from The Swan, also in Epping: the only Chinese food place I’ve encountered anywhere that does takeaway and delivers for free, but doesn’t put menus through the door every other day. Or at all. Who’da thunk it?
